ABOUT AIRBRUSH
TANNING--Questions & Answers
How does Airbrush Tanning Work?
Say goodbye to harmful UV rays and say
hello to a beautiful, natural looking tan that you can airbrush on easily in the privacy
of your own home.
All sunless tanning methods
have a single common characteristic/ingredient called DHA (dihydroxyacetone).
When DHA is applied to the skin,
it interacts with the amino acids on the top layer of the skin
to generate a tan on the skin. DHA does not dye the skin but
actually makes the skins darken. Once the DHA solutions are applied
to the
skin, the skin will continue to darken for up to 12 hours. We
have 5 different solutions to
match everyone's skin tone! The tan is absolutely water-resistant
and diminishes only
as the dead
cells of the skin flake off-usually in one to two weeks. How long does it take to apply
& how long will the tan last?
An airbrush tan typically takes only
about 30 minutes start to finish. Remember you
save the time it takes to schedule your salon appointment, wait
time at the salon, and the time you spend driving to/from the salon!
- Once the tanning
solution is applied to your skin, you will continue to tan
(darken) for
up
to 12
hours.
- After 8-12 hours, take your shower
and hydrate the skin.
- Your tan will fade gradually just
like a tan produced by the sun.
- Most sunless tans last approximately
7 days. Just like with all tans, you lose your tan because
your skin is exfoliating. Depending on how hydrated your skin
is,
will determine the length of time you maintain a tan.
What is DHA? Is
DHA Sunless Tans
Skin Therapy safe?
DHA is a simple sugar
and non-toxic. Because
its reactivity is quite high, it reacts very quickly with the amino
acids on the top layer of the skin. Therefore, it cannot diffuse
into the deeper skin layers. We have
5 different solutions with different
levels of DHA to match everyone's skin tone!
Sunless Tanning therefore tans only the outer layer of the skin
unlike a UV tan which tans several layers into the skin.
DHA has been available
on the market for over 40 years and is FDA approved for the skin.
Sunless Tans is not a dye. The active ingredient works with the
amino acids in the top layer of the skin to produce a natural tan
exactly like the sun, but without damaging the skin.
The solution does not contain UV protection. Always wear sunscreen.
Will it look Good on Me?
Yes, Sunless Tans Skin Therapy has taken the guess-work out of
sunless tanning. We have five different formulas to match up to
skin type, ensuring the most perfect, natural looking tan.
Airbrush Tanning vs. Foams or Lotions?
In today’s
market, we are overloaded with choices. Creams streak and foams stain
our hands and feet, not
to mention the bad smell they create while developing. Sunless
Tans’ airbrushing
technique applies easily and sprays on as a mist which absorbs
immediately into your skin. Airbrushing is the only safe and effective
way to ensure an all over even tan without worrying about looking
orange, being streaky, or staining your clothes. Say goodbye to
the foams and creams, and say hello to the only way of producing
a natural tan.
Does it Stain?
Sunless Tans formula contains a water and sugar base and this allows for any
solution that may get on your clothes to wash out. We suggest dark cotton
bikini or underwear shorts
when spraying and to avoid nylon.
Will I Turn Orange?
No! Sunless
Tans has spent a great deal of time in perfecting our blend of solution
so this will not happen. Sunless Tans provides a golden-brown color.
